Fáilte go Lurga
Welcome to Lurga National School’s website.
On our site we will share information and photographs that will give you a flavour of life in Lurga National School.
Lurga NS is one of the most southerly schools in Co. Galway, located south of Gort in the parish of Beagh. The school currently has an enrolment of 90 pupils along with four Mainstream Class teachers, one Special Education Teacher, two
part-time Special Education Teacher and a part-time secretary.
Our school officially opened in 1884, the same year that the GAA was founded and it was to this parish that Michael Cusack came to teach at the turn of the last century.
We welcome back all our students and our new junior infants.
Reminder - Parents it is of vital importance to not congregate at or near school (at the school wall or in the car park at any time) and that communication with the school must take place by phone or online as per government guidelines
Reminder - If you are collecting two or more children from school please collect at 3:00 p.m. and if collecting only one child please collect at 3:10 (This is a measure to alleviate car park congregation)
Mini rugby training will take place on Saturday mornings in Gort from September 4th from 10 am to 11.15 am. New and existing members are welcome. Come along and give it a try!
