Depending on the weather, have a go at this fun scavenger hunt whether it’s around your house or out in the garden. First, find some paper and write down the list.
Next go explore and as you find the items, tick them off the list. When you are finished, make sure everything goes back to its original place.

Making invisible ink is a lot of fun, you can pretend you are a secret agent as you keep all your secret codes and messages hidden from others.

- Spoon

- Cotton bud
- White paper
- Lamp
Instructions:
- Squeeze some lemon juice into the bowl and add a few drops of water.
- Mix the water and lemon juice with the spoon.
- Dip the cotton bud into the mixture and write a message onto the white paper.
- Wait for the juice to dry so it becomes completely invisible.
- When you are ready to read your secret message or show it to someone else, heat the paper by holding it close to a light bulb.

The Titanic Experience Cobh is running a competition. There are two options; an art and a story writing competition. Read the details below. The closing date for both competitions is Monday 4th of May.

Calling all art enthusiasts.... We would love to see your pictures of the Titanic. Be as creative as you wish and send us in your picture of Titanic at sea, striking the iceberg, leaving port or wherever your imagination takes you.

What happens next is up to you!

The rules of the Competition will be strictly applied.
Categories: The age category is determined by the age you are on the deadline for submission. I.e. your age on the 4th May 2020.
Subject: We'd like you to enjoy making your art and story, you can do anything provided it has a clear link to Titanic.
Size of artwork: Entries should not be smaller than A4 (29.7cm x 21cm) or larger than A3 (42cm x 29.7cm). Framed entries will not be accepted.
Length of Short Story: The short story can be as long as you wish.
Materials for Artwork: You may use any type of paper of any texture, white or coloured which is no larger than A3 in size. The art can be made using pencil, charcoal, ink, crayon, pastel, acrylics, watercolour, or oils.
Originality: Your work should be original and done by yourself with no assistance.
How to submit entries: Artwork Entries should be submitted in flat format and no larger than A3 (42cm x 29.7cm). Story Entries should be A4 in size
Please print the following information (IN BLOCK CAPITALS) on the back of each entry:.
- Name, age, home address, home telephone number, date of birth

Challenge # 21 - Make a DIY bird Feeder
In honour of World Earth Day, make a DIY bird feeder or bird house with the help of an adult. You can make it out of suitable items in your recycling bin such as a milk carton, container, yogurt pot or plastic bottle.

- With help from an adult, use a craft knife of scissors to cut the sides out of a carton/bottle etc. If you are using a yogurt pot or container you will not need to cut out any windows.
- Place your bird feeder on a protected surface and paint or decorate. Let dry
- Again with help from an adult, poke a hole into the top on each side of the bird feeder with a nail or screw driver.
- Thread a piece of wool or string through the bird feeder and knot at the top to hang.
- Fill with bird seed and find the perfect location outside to bird watch.
Challenge # 22 - Make a memories jar!
This is a difficult time for everyone but there are still lots of things we can all be thankful for.
Why not use an empty jar or container to make a memory jar of this time. Make your own one or get everyone involved and make a family memory jar. Add a happy memory or something to be thankful for each day. Start it off from today or can you think of any memories from the last few weeks that you can also add to the jar! |

Challenge #23 - Make Fork Biscuits
With the help of an adult why not make some simple 3 ingredient fork biscuits. As always, remember to clean your hands well before and after.
Equipment
Equipment
- 2 baking trays
- Bowl
- Wooden Spoon
- Oven
- 100g Butter at room temperature, plus a little extra for greasing
- 50g Caster sugar
- 150g Self- raising flour
- Lightly grease the baking trays with butter (You can also use baking paper if you have it).
- Put the butter into a large bowl and beat with a wooden spoon to soften it.
- Gradually beat in the caster sugar.
- Then stir in the flour.
- Use your hands to gather the mixture together into a soft but not sticky dough.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place well apart on the baking trays.
- Dip a fork into cold water and press on top of each ball to flatten it and imprint the fork pattern.
- Bake in a preheated oven @ 180°C (160°C fan oven) for 12-15 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
- Enjoy :)

Challenge #30 - Make a rainbow at home!
Can we make a rainbow at home? Yes, we can!
With this How to Grow a Rainbow Experiment Science Activity, you can make your own rainbow with just some felt-tip pens, two bowls of water and a bow-shaped piece of kitchen roll.

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon formed when light (usually sunlight) passes through droplets of water hanging in the atmosphere. The colours of the rainbow are: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
What To Do:
1. Cut the kitchen roll into the shape of a rainbow.
2. At each end, use the felt-tip pens to colour a rainbow about 2cm up from the bottom. Remember the order of the colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
3. Attach the paperclip to the top of the rainbow and tie a piece of thread to it. This will allow you to hold your rainbow.
4. Add water to the two bowls.
5. Hold the rainbow with both ends slightly submerged into each bowl of water and watch your rainbow grow.
